Engineer by Education and Musician by passion, Akhil is an emerging Vocalist who was mentored under ace Carnatic Veteran Shree Akella Mallikarjuna Sharma garu. Right from college days, Akhil was inclined towards music and handled dual responsibility of pursuing his masters in IT in Thailand and working his hands on various forms of music. He learnt the nuances of Swarakalpana from his Guru and has participated in numerous reality singing shows which includes popular "Padutha Theeyaga" hosted by the legendary singer SP Balasubramaniyam.
An ardent fan of AR Rahman, he believes in communicating the deeper feeling of a music composition and does it with much elan with his mellifluous voice. Currently associated with a popular Rock band of the city as a Lead Vocalist, Akhil is interested to share his knowledge of Carnatic and light music with the beginners and music enthusiasts.
Lakshmi Pooja is a dedicated and accomplished Carnatic music vocalist with a strong foundation in classical music. With a Diploma in Carnatic Vocal Music and a Technical Teachers Certificate Training Course, she possesses both the technical expertise and pedagogical skills to train students in the rich traditions of Indian classical music. Her six years of teaching experience, including five years at Vikas International School and her ongoing tenure at VOS for the past year, has shaped her into a versatile and inspiring mentor. Over the years, she has trained more than 500 students, helping them develop their vocal abilities, grasp the intricacies of ragas, and refine their expression in Carnatic music.
Lakshmi Pooja’s teaching style blends discipline with creativity, ensuring that students not only learn the technical aspects of music but also feel and connect with the essence of each composition. She believes in personalized training, catering to students of different age groups and skill levels, whether they are beginners or advanced learners aiming to master the art of Carnatic music. Beyond just teaching, she plays a vital role in guiding students through traditional Carnatic repertoires and instilling in them a deep appreciation for Indian classical music. With her expertise, patience, and unwavering passion, she continues to shape the next generation of classical vocalists at VOS.
We are conducting an event on 26th Jan 2022. Looking for volunteers to participate playing guitar.
If you have known basic guitar skills (even as less as finger exercises) it is enough to participate, we will train you further. And its free we just need you to be committed to attend and participate.
You will need to have your own guitar
It is a good opportunity for someone to participate in events and to continue your journey as a guitarist. Certificate will also be provided.
